Absent: Commissioner LaMere. <br /> <br />~' ~OM MISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />~ ;asc # I: Consider Relocation of Old Town Hall to Ramsey Town Center <br /> <br />It was noted thc City Council has discussed the location and future use of Old Town Hall at a <br />work sussion and at a regular meeting. The adjacent property owner has approached the City <br />ubout tt.~ing tiao building as expansion office space. Council directed staff to research options for <br />thc building and site. <br /> <br />(~1 u~i rl,Urson Johns stated it is a designated historical site by the National Historical Society and if <br />~]()vc(I it looses that designation. She also wondered if they needed to pay back the grant money <br />;~sst)ciz,tcct xvith this. <br /> <br />Iqu-ks/[ ltilitics Supervisor Riverblood indicated some of the grant money may need to be paid <br />1,acl<. <br /> <br />( 'a~nissioncr Lchman wondered if there has been an input from the historical society. <br /> <br />t'arl<s/[Jlilitics Supervisor Riverblood thought they were aware of it. <br /> <br />!ix, il l{nginccr II Linton stated if moved, there will be economic gain from the land sale but if it <br />rc,nxinud there, it would not be useable. <br /> <br />('h;~irpcrson Johns wondered if the Parks Commission accepted it, would this become a part of <br />lxu'l< inventory and would the parks have to pay for the moving and renovation of the building. <br /> <br />lqu'l<s,'l itilitics Supervisor Riverblood thought the sale of the land would pay for the moving plus <br />r~llOV',llioB. <br /> <br />('h;~irpurson Johns stated as is, the building needs significant work for anyone to use it. She <br />t l x>ught there should be some sort of educational element included with this building. <br /> <br />('ommissioner Ostrum stated he was thinking it would be a good idea to move the building to <br />l-hncrcst I>ark. <br /> <br />('on,missioner Olds agreed and thought Town Center was more modem. He thought this could <br />}9~x ti i>l:~uc where school kids could go for an educational experience.
