Council Update Election Update. City staff conducted Absentee Balloting from September 23 through October 31. During that period, staff processed 740 voters. Direct Balloting occurred from November 1 through November 7. During the six days of Direct Balloting, staff processed 1,065 voters, plus ballots that would have otherwise been sent through the mail. There were 18,059 registered voters in the City when the polls opened at 7:00 am; by the end of the day, that number climbed to an estimated 18,587 registered voters. Results of the November 8 General Election are: Council Member At -Large: Jeffrey (Jeff) Lubarski 3,563 36.24% Chris Riley 6,203 63.08% WRITE-IN 67 0.68% Council Member Ward 1 Milene (Mickey) Adams 998 37.16% Michael Olson 1,678 62.47% WRITE-IN 10 0.37% Council Member Ward 3 Rachal Johnson 903 38.64% Dan Specht 1,420 60.76% WRITE-IN 14 0.60% Welcome New Ramsey Business: Lynnes Welding Training, Inc., located at 9459 Highway 10 NW, is an accredited school that offers hands-on welding programs and training courses designed to serve the needs of any individual skill level, from beginner to advanced. Parks and Recreation Events and Updates: • Holiday Lights Contest o Registration is now open until Thursday, December 1 for the 2"d Annual Holiday Lights Contest. A map with all participating addresses will be available on the City's website at www.citvoframsev.com/574/narks-recreationevents for residents to take a self -guided tour. Judging will take place December 5-15, and winners will be announced on Monday, December 19. • Holiday Tree Lighting o Join us on Tuesday, November 29, for our annual Tree Lighting at 6:00 pm at Ramsey City Hall. Enjoy cookies and cocoa provided by the Ramsey Lions, have a picture taken with Santa, ride in a horse-drawn trolley and create -your -own polymer clay ornament!
