Attached to the Weekly Update are the Parks and Recreation Events Flyers. Come Work With Us! The City of Ramsey is hiring for the following positions: • Police Officers (2 Openings). The primary objective of these positions is to perform responsible police work involving the protection and safety of the community through prevention and control of crime, maintaining or restoring public order, investigating crime, regulating traffic, enforcing laws and providing emergency services; as well as other related duties as required. These are full-time LELS-Patrol union positions. The 2023 hiring wage is $32.460 per hour. The application deadline is open until filled, apply immediately if interested. • Police Technician. Our Police Technician provides administrative, clerical, reception and transcription support to the Ramsey Police Department. They also provide customer service support, exercising discretion while building relationships within the community, residents and City staff. Other duties include, but are not limited to, entering, maintaining, retrieving and compiling factual information through numerous computerized systems and disseminating this information to authorized agencies and persons. This position will also monitor compliance by applying knowledge of data privacy practice requirements, respond to the public who will make telephone or in -person contact and classify crimes pursuant to applicable state and federal reporting systems. This is a full-time AFSCME union position. The 2023 wage scale is $23.050 to $28.813 per hour. Application deadline is 11:59 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. • Paid On -call Firefighter. Paid On -call Firefighters respond to a variety of emergency and non -emergency events under the general supervision of an officer and are expected to function effectively as part of a highly trained team. They perform duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material responses, water and ice rescue. Paid On -call Firefighters also are required to attend regularly scheduled training in order to maintain the high level of knowledge, skill and ability necessary to function safely and effectively as a firefighter and EMS provider in accordance with state law and standard operating procedures. All formal (required) training will be provided and paid for by the City. No previous experience is necessary. The starting wage is $12.88 per hour during the first year of probation/training. The top pay for this position is $18.70 per hour. An informational meeting will be held at Fire Station #1 (15050 Armstrong Boulevard) on Wednesday, November 16, at 7:00 pm.
