RATIFY CHANGE ORDERS FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF NEW RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br />Background: <br />At the regular meeting of May 241h, 2005, Council established levels of authority for use during the <br />construction of the new Municipal Center. The following levels of authority were adopted: <br />City Council: Approval of project change orders greater than $25,000 <br />Approval of all project change orders less than $25,000 by ratification at <br />regular Council meetings <br />Facilities Committee: Approval of project change orders in excess of $10,000 and less than <br />$25,000, ratified by City Council <br />Project Team: Approval of project change orders of up to $10,000 by James E. <br />Norman, City Administrator and Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City <br />Administrator, ratified by City Council <br />l"his case represents the second ratification of change orders that have been approved by the Project <br />"fc:ani and Facilities Committee. <br />Staft' Recommendation: <br />Ratify the following change orders for the construction of the new Ramsey Municipal Center: <br />Change Order 105 1 -01 $13,296.00 <br />Structural modifications to precast plank bearing <br />Change Order 1061-02 $6,874.00 <br />Change electric strikes for door openings <br />Change Order 1031-01 ($287.00) <br />Add structural key to plans; revisions to booking toilet; delete footing steps at <br />sanitary sewer; delete stoop foundation; code plumbing changes <br />Change Order 1041-02 $1,572.00 <br />Change location of diffusers in vestibule; clarify brick color and blend; moisture <br />barrier change at window blocking; clarify joist bearing elevations; clarify <br />masonry/structural in area B&C; delete footing steps at sanitary sewer; delete <br />stoop foundation; revise heads -in masonry; revise door opening <br />Change Order 1061-03 $246.00 <br />Revise moisture barrier change; add 8 cable TV outlets; clarify window W21 <br />Change Order 1161-01 $2,623.00 <br />Clarify masonry/structural in area B & C; changes to booking toilet; add 8 cable <br />TV outlets; Change voltage to match elevator specification <br />Total executed change orders as of 11/22/05: $24,324.00 <br />Council Action: <br />lutlhorizc Resolution No. 05-11-xx, Ratifying Change Orders for Construction of new Ramsey <br />Aunicipal Center. <br />Neviewed by: <br />('Mt administrator <br />1 finance Officer <br />-139- <br />
