CASE# 1 3 <br />AUTHORIZE INSTALLATION OF LIGHTING IN TH 47 PEDESTRIAN <br />UNDERPASS <br />By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br />Background: <br />Attached is a proposal from Connexus Energy for the installation of five metal halide <br />lighting fixtures and associated electrical equipment to provide lighting for the pedestrian <br />underpass being constructed across TH 47. The cost of the work is estimated to be <br />$5,530 which includes materials and installation. The work anticipates that it can still be <br />performed before significant frost sets into the ground. In the event this is not the case an . <br />additional $700 might be anticipated. An additional $200 should be budgeted for the <br />installation of a conduit to accommodate a security camera system which can be installed <br />concurrent with the electrical cable. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the proposal from Connexus Energy for the installation <br />of lighting for the TH 47 pedestrian underpass and that $6,430 be budgeted for this work <br />which would come from the funds dedicated to this project, Improvement project 05-30. <br />Action: <br />Motion to accept the proposal from Connexus Energy for the installation of lighting for <br />the TH 47 pedestrian underpass and that $6,430 be budgeted for this work which would <br />come from the funds dedicated to this project, Improvement project 05-30. <br />Reviewed by: <br />Assistant Public Works Director/Principal Engineer <br />CC': 11/22/05 <br />n <br />—309— <br />
