City Planner Rasmussen stated that Chris Bulow of Bulow Incorporated is requesting <br />preliminary plat approval of Mallard Ponds. The plat consists of approximately 16 acres in the <br />area generally described as north of County Road #116 and east of Dysprosium Street· On <br />March 28, 2000, Mr. Bulow attended a City'Council work session to get their opinion of the <br />street configurations. The Council discussed the overall density of the project and decided that <br />they could not initiate discussion on the street layout until the density issue is resolved. He reported that he had recently been contacted by a couple of parties who are interested ~' O. <br /> in purchasing the property and who would leave the property with a commercial zoning <br /> designation. He has told those parties that he is not interested in selling, and he would like to <br /> move forward with this project. Mr. Bulow explained that this has been an ongoing process for <br /> two years. He noted the site has slightly changed as the proposal now includes 26 detached <br /> townhomes and 32 twinhomes. <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson asked how many acres are included with the apartment proposal. <br /> <br />Mr. Bulow stated there are approximately five acres proposed for apartments. <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson asked the City Engineer for a review of the traffic study that was part of the <br />packet. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated he had not had time to review the information. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated the information had just been delivered at 5:00 <br />p.m. that afternoon. <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson stated the applicant had jumped through a number of hoops, and had gone <br />through a public hearing and heard the public input.
