Except where a vacancy -unexpectedly occurs, creating a vacant seat mid-term, all new appointments or reappointments to regular terms on a City board or commission will be effective on April 1. This is to allow the current members of the City Council the opportunity to review and select individuals for seats on boards and commissions. Chair and vice -chair selections are generally decided by each board or commission in April.
