Councilmember Hendriksen stated there have been multiple .accidents at that intersection and recommended it be considered in the near future for a four-way stop by Anoka County. He suggested that Anoka County be approached early to make that consideration. Chairperson Zimmerman stated he understands the County's desire to keep traffic moving but when something like this happens, the City needs to make the County aware. City Engineer Jankowski offered to prepare an accident tabulation back to 1993 on that specific intersection. Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler stated this intersection has similar signage as like intersections. Councilmember Hendriksen stated he would be interested in reviewing a tabulation such as suggested by City Engineer Jankowski. He stated he thinks a stop sign will be needed because 153rd Avenue will become a cross-town collector. He suggested traffic counts be obtained. City Engineer Jankowski stated he will provide that data for the Committee's review. Public Works Committee consensus was reached to direct staff to provide an accident tabulation and traffic counts for this intersection and to place the issue on the next Council agenda to consider initiating a request to Anoka County for a four-way stop. · Consider Rescheduling Next Meeting Date Due to Conflict City Engineer Jankowski noted the next Public Works Committee meeting date conflicts with the Business Appreciation Day. Public Works Commission consensus was to direct staff to poll members to determine a rescheduled meeting date. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Chairperson Zimmerman, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman and Councilmember Hendriksen.
