Councilmember Hendriksen requested that a timeline be available indicating how long the utility <br />will be operating in the negative and at what point it is expected to brake even. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the City needs to inform the residents and local <br />businesses that the utility is for maintenance of existing systems not for new development. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly inquired if staff has compared the cost that is being charged to the <br />businesses for the utility to similar size businesses in other communities. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler replied that he could receive those figures. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Committee was to direct staff to compare the utility rate that the City is <br />charging to both residents and businesses to other communities. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed at length the issue of adding the cost of the utility to the property taxes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if a home business would be charged more than what a <br />residential property would be charged. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied no, unless they have substantially more impervious area than a <br />typical residential property. <br /> <br />2) Storm Drainage on 15241 Barium Street N.W <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler reviewed two options that staff has recommended to correct the <br />problem. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to direct staff <br />to put together a cost estimate to complete the project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman and Councilmember Hendriksen. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Chairperson Zimmerman, to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman and Councilmember Hendriksen. Voting <br />No: None.
