The 2000 program to sealcoat and overlay 19.3 miles of City streets has a <br />total project cost of $398,607 with this cost being divided equally between the City and assessed <br />property owners. The estimated cost per household will range from $526.00 to $770.00. Mr. <br />Jankowski reviewed how the assessment can be paid. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Councihnember Connolly stated that she would abstain from discussion since she lives in Crows <br />Addition. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson noted that she lives in Reilley Estates. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich recommended that all Councilmembers participate in discussion and <br />vote since there is no financial benefit to any of the Councilmembers and a four fifth vote is <br />needed. <br /> <br />Kevin Chase, inquired if there has been any decisions regarding the emergency overflow and <br />flooding on his lot in Juniper Ridge. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that they are in the process of ordering plans and specs for the <br />Juniper Ridge project. <br /> <br />Jeff, a resident on Olivine Street, Crow's Addition, stated that he does not think the roads are in <br />that bad of condition and questioned the life span of the overlay. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that the first streets were ovedayed in 1990, and are still in <br />good condition. The overlayed streets will be sealcoated in five years and then it is projected <br />they will get another seven years out of the overlay. <br /> <br />Jeff inquired if there has been any discussion in regards to City water or sewer being run into <br />their area. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the City currently has no intent on adding City sewer and water into <br />any residential areas because of the high cost to do so. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman noted that Crow's Addition is located outside the MUSA line. <br /> <br />Richard, a resident on Marble Street, inquired if the roads will be milled prior to being overlayed <br />because there is grass growing through the overlay. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that only certain areas will be milled.
