5) Purchase of New & replacement Computers, Monitors and Printer <br /> <br />This item was tabled for further review. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Logo Discussion <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that in March, the City Council directed staff to solicit <br />proposals from various graphic design artists who may have an interest in working with the City <br />in redesigning the current City logo. A list of nine design firms were provided by the League of <br />Minnesota Cities. Each firm was sent a letter describing the process and deadlines. Staff <br />received six proposals. The following is a list of the firms that responded with design submittals <br />and corresponding cost estimates for the project: <br /> <br />· Laurie Ingram Duren $12,150.00 <br />· Marie Moreland $ 6,250.00 <br />· Kulhanek Design Studio $ 6,000.00 <br />· Bob Burger Studio $ 2,850.00 <br />· Bruce Kraft $1,900.00 <br />· Tom O'Brien $1,200.00 <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman explained that cost estimates vary depending on the amount of time <br />estimated to do the design and the amount of assistance required to utilize the design on <br />letterhead, business cards, water towers, and pins. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to approve the selection of <br />Tom O'Brien as the artist to redesign the Cities logo at a price of $1,200.00. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Connolly, and Hendriksen. <br />Voting No: Councilmember Anderson. <br /> <br />2) T.H. #47 Detour Signage Update <br /> <br />This issue was discussed at the time it was added to the agenda (prior to the Consent Agenda). <br /> <br />City Council/June 13, 2000 <br />Page 25 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
