Councilmember Anderson nay <br />Councilmember Connolly aye <br />Councilmember Zimmerman aye <br />Mayor Gamec aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Case #12: <br /> <br />Award Bids for Improvement Project #99-11 and #99-12, The Bituminous <br />Paving of Jackel and Iguana Streets <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the City Council ordered the paving of Jackel and Iguana <br />Streets on May 23, 2000. These projects involve grading, and paving of Jackel Street (IP #99- <br />11) and Iguana Street (IP #99-12) between 153rd Avenue and 15Pt Lane. Bids were received <br />fi'om seven contractors on Tuesday, June 20, 2000, with the following results: <br /> <br />Contractor <br />DMJ Corporation <br />North Valley, Inc. <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. <br />Northwest Asphalt, Inc. <br />Bauerly Companies <br />Hardrivers, Inc. <br />Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. <br /> <br />Base Bid Amount <br />$5O,329.5O <br />$50,880.00 <br />$55,051.00 <br />$55,825.00 <br />$59,547.50 <br />$70,652.50 <br />$72,051.00 <br /> <br />Alternate Bid <br />$46,764.40 <br />$46,280.00 <br />$49,876.O0 <br />$52,105.00 <br />$54,972.50 <br />$65,462.50 <br />$66,950.00 <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen noted that the staff report indicates a base bid amount of $50,329.50 <br />and the letter received from Hakanson Anderson indicates a base bid amount of $50,299.50. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that he will verify the correct dollar amount. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Cormolly, to adopt <br />Resolution #00-06-163 Awarding bid to DMJ Corporation for Improvement Project #99-11 and <br />#99-12 in the amount of $50,329.50. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Connolly inquired if there is a testing procedure to verify if <br />the two or three inches of bituminous were used. City Engineer Jankowski replied that the City <br />keeps track of the trip tickets which would have to account for the three inches of bituminous. <br />Director of Public Works Kapler noted that Public Works Supervisor Grant Riemer has been <br />making assessments of those types of projects On a daily basis. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
