CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 1999, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />A/so Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Engineer Brian Olson <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:05 p.m. and called <br />upon Councilmember Anderson to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION OF BADGES TO PAID ON CALL FIRE FIGHTERS <br />COMMEMORATING END OF PROBATION PERIOD <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler introduced firefighters John Nelson and Jessie Turness explaining that they <br />have both become state certified and have completed their required medical training. He stated <br />that John Nelson is a Public Works Maintenance Worker for the City of Ramsey and Jessie <br />Turness is a local business owner, which makes them available to respond to any daytime <br />emergency. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to remove John <br />Nelson and Jessie Tumess from their probationary period as paid on call firefighters. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes:Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.
