The Commission agreed to submit the proposed Charter Amendments and recommended an Ordinance supporting the proposed amendments to the City Council on August 22, 2000, at their regular scheduled Council meeting. Citizen Input Charter Commissioner Keith Kiefer stated that the Charter Commission met on July 5th and July 31~ to discuss the amendment and to make the recommendation to the City Council. He noted that the Deputy City Clerk has been performing the City Clerk duties for some time and that the amendment is only a housekeeping item. Charter Commissioner Barry Childs noted that the amendment will not add anymore staff to the City or increase any City costs. Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to close the public hearing. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. The public bearing closed at 8:15 p.m. Council Business Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 8:15 p.m. Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to introduce an ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the City Charter to separate the position of Administrator and Clerk and establishing the position of City Clerk. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec,. Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Case #2: Public Hearing and Levy of Assessments for past Due Charges on Municipal Utility Bills and Current Services Rendered Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 8:18 p.m. in order to conduct a public hearing.
