The Commission agreed to <br />submit the proposed Charter Amendments and recommended an Ordinance supporting the <br />proposed amendments to the City Council on August 22, 2000, at their regular scheduled <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Charter Commissioner Keith Kiefer stated that the Charter Commission met on July 5th and July <br />31~ to discuss the amendment and to make the recommendation to the City Council. He noted <br />that the Deputy City Clerk has been performing the City Clerk duties for some time and that the <br />amendment is only a housekeeping item. <br /> <br />Charter Commissioner Barry Childs noted that the amendment will not add anymore staff to the <br />City or increase any City costs. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The public bearing closed at 8:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 8:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to introduce an <br />ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the City Charter to separate the position of Administrator and <br />Clerk and establishing the position of City Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec,. Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, <br />and Zimmerman.
