COMMITTEE/STAFF INPUT

Substandard Private Streets

Direction will be needed form the Council regarding areas in the City when a private
road/private road intersection has conditions that are not up to City standards, such as icy
conditions that could cause an accident.

Consensus of the Committee was to forward to the City Attorney for review.

Comfort Suites - Water Meter

Public Works Director Kapler stated when Comfort Suites was built a water meter was
installed that was more for a high flow type of use. Staff has contacted Comfort Suites and
informed them the City will pay for a different meter and the installation. Staff believes only
30% of the water use is being captured, based on comparing the usage with a similar motel in
Elk River. The last time staff approached Comfort suites regarding this they stated they have
chosen not to change the meter out.

The consensus of the Committee was to forward the issue to the City Attorney for direction.

2006 Public Works Goals

Public Works Director Kapler distributed the 2006 Public Works Goals to the Committee. He
requested the Committee to contact staff with any questions regarding the goals.

Ramsey Athletic Association

Chairperson Elvig indicated RYAA has merged with the Anoka Athletic Association. He
expressed his preference in Ramsey having its own athletic association.

Chairperson Cook suggested there will be a need for consideration of the City having its own
Park and Recreation staff in the future.

Reviewed by:
Assistant Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer
City Engineer

CC: 02/14/06

-324-
