CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. and called <br />upon Councihnember Zimmerman to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION BY YOUTH FIRST <br /> <br />Stan Peichel, Principal of Ramsey Elementary School, reviewed the Youth First program and <br />explained that with the expansion of the group's vision, it was necessary to hire a part time <br />coordinator who is Jan Pomeroy, who is also present at the meeting. They requested that the <br />City of Ramsey commit to an annual line item budget of $5,000 to help support the Youth First <br />orgmaization. By receiving this annual support the organization can remain viable and the <br />contribution by the City is a way of showing that they value youth in the community. He <br />explained that the organization is in the process of publishing framed posters that will be posted <br />in the community that addresses student responsibilities. The posters will be posted in the <br />schools as well as at local businesses. <br /> <br />Mayor Garnec replied that the Council is in the process of reviewing budget items and they can <br />discuss the issue at that time and get back to them with an answer. <br /> <br />Mr. Peichel encouraged anyone in the community to attend a Youth First meeting <br /> <br />City Council/November 28, 2000 <br /> Page 3 of 21 <br /> <br /> <br />
