REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO HAVE A BUSINESS IDENTIFICATION <br /> SIGN IN THE R-iR RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; CASE OF STANLEY MORTON <br /> By: Planning Assistant Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. Stanley Morton is requesting a conditional use permit to have a 32 <br />square foot portable sign on his nursery stock sales lot at 16355 St. <br />Francis Blvd. N.W. In 1981, Mr. Morton was issued a conditional use permit <br />to operate a nursery stock business on his property. One of the conditions <br />of that permit is that any installation of signs shall be in compliance <br />with local ordinances. Local ordinances prohibit advertising signs in the <br />R-iR Residential District; to have such a sign would require a conditional <br />use permit. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Application <br />b) Site location map <br />c) Public hearing notice <br />d) Properties notified <br />e) Proposed findings of fact <br />f) Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Mr. Morton has stated that he will have photos of the sign available at the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />The City has received a letter from Mr. Wes Bulen at 16600 St. Francis <br />Blvd. N.W. stating no objection to Mr. Morton's request to have a business <br />sign as it is an integral part of the nursery business. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend adoption of findings of fact relating to Mr. Stanley <br />Morton's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend approval/denial of Mr. Stanley Morton's request for a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator Chief of Police <br />Attorney __ Finance Officer <br />Engineer ..
