Adjacent Land Uses

The proposed Site is bounded by vacant and land-surface concrete-
product storage areas of the Bladholm property. In turn the Bladholm
property (fig. l) is bordered: on the north and east by I-1 industrial-land
u~es~ on the south by the Burlington Northern Inc. (Great Northern Railway
Co.) right-of-way which is adjoined on the south by B-1 business district
land-uses adjacen~ to U.S. Highway 10 and 169 (fig. 7); and on the west by
the Gateway North Industrial Airport.

The southwest part of the proposed Site lies within Safety Zone A of
the Gateway North Industrial Airport (8). In that the land surface of the
Site within the Safety Zone will be temporarily raised less than 10 ft (fig.
3) during parts of the proposed landfilling operations, we do not anticipate
that those activities would significantly affect aircraft landings and

takeoffs.

Map'2a

Figure 3, the initial-grading plan, depicts the excavation of an
initial cell, the interim drainage ditch, the associated 1.6-acre
percolation pond, and a vertical section and land-surface location of a
culvert for the access roadway. The percolation pond is designed so as to
control any possible over~and movement of surface waters and for the
catchment of sediments that may be carried by those waters.

8803 13

R.K.
