NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINp~E~ The Commission noted the following: 1. City Council special meeting minutes dated August 3, 1988. City Council public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated August 15, 1988. City Council/Planning and Zoning workshop meeting minutes dated August 16, 1988. City Council assessment hearings and regular meeting minutes dated August 23, 1988. COMM S ON B S NE S ~ Subcommittee ReDortm: A) Legislative Subcommittiee - Chairman Greenberg stated that the Legislative Subcommittee needs to meet with Representative Ernie Larsen and concerned businessmen regarding the high cost of Workman's Compensation. B) Economic and Finance Subcommittee - Chairman Greenberg stated that A1 Phillips of Altron has withdrawn his request for TIF because he feels the process is too complex. Chairman Greenberg suggested that the commission review the TIF program to be sure it is understandable. C) Publicity Subcommittee - The Economic Development Commission was informed that Council approved an expenditure for the Fact Booklet and Homeowners Manual. It was suggested that the printing be done by All-Brite Graphics. They Economic Development Commission was told by Sylvia Frolik that City Council had approved the funds for the 1988 Ramsey Business Expo. D) Business Incubator Subcommittee - It was reported by Commissioner Ippel that the City of Anoka is considering developing a business incubator. E) Frontage Road Subcommittee - Commissioner Hardin stated that MN/DOT wants more information as to the exact type of signing Ramsey wants. Consensus was that this subject should be on the joint EDC/P & Z agenda. It was stated by Chairman Greenberg that the subject of some long narrow lots along Front Street and difficulty with subdivision be brought up at the joint meeting of the Economic Development Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
