APPROVAL OF ~ARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />Motion by commissioner Lokker and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to approve <br />the Park and Recreation Commission regular meeting minutes dated June 9, <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Lichter, Commissioners Shumway, Lokker, <br />Prall, Rustad and Johnson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Hetland. <br /> <br />Sase ~1 Review Pro~osd Trail Corridors <br />Tim Raster - 17765 Tonto- stated that he has a petition from the people in his <br />neighborhood and that they do not want four trails going through their land. <br />They don't think it is the right place. <br />Henry Florentius - 17601 Marmoset - asked what the benefits of the trails were <br />and who thinks it is a good idea and who doesn't. <br /> Commissioner Shumway said that there was a survey in the March 1987 Ramsey <br /> Resident that was sent out. <br /> Tom Wright - 17105 Nowthen Blvd. - stated that he was opposed to the trail <br /> system. He said that if someone would donate the land that would be different <br /> but he doesn't like the idea of having the trails going through his pasture and <br /> others backyards. He also stated that he does not think Ramsey needs a trail <br /> system. <br /> <br /> Henry Florentius asked who would be paying for the trails. <br /> Commissioner Shumway said that the land would be dedicated. <br /> Ragna Pearson - 8846 Hwy 10 - stated that she is opposed to the trails. <br /> Carol Barnet - 6121 - 161st - said that the trail will be taking 45 to 75 Feet <br /> of her property. She stated that she is against the trails but she will not <br /> fight it. <br /> Bill Weiss - 16053 Kowthen - stated that he thinks the County should take over <br /> the trail system and that he doesn't think the City can afford the up-keep on <br /> them; he thinks the money should be used on the parks we already have. <br /> Ron Hunt - 17455 Nowthen - stated that the Commission said they are not g~ing <br /> to take land but down the line they will have to in order to finish the trails. <br /> Gerald Ackerman - 15510 Zirconium - said that the trails will take one acre of <br /> his land and he has only got 4.8. <br /> John Rowe - 17059 Nowthen - suggested having another survey done because so <br /> many people are against the trails. <br /> ¥~rilyn Ranelle - 17600 Marmoset - stated that her property is across the <br /> street from a proposed parking lot and that she feels it will lower her <br /> property value. <br /> <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/August 11, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
