COUNCIL PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br /> <br /> CITY 0F RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Council Personnel Committee was held at <br />7:05 a.m., Thursday, J~me 25, i981, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members P~esent: Councilman Relmann <br /> Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Lloyd Schnelle, City Administrator <br />Merle Mevissen, Public Works Superintendent <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />following was discussed at the meeting. <br /> <br />Personnel - The following was submitted in regards to hi~ing a <br />replacement for M~. Buchite who has submitted in writing that he <br />will be retiring from the City of Ramsey's Public Womks Department <br />on October 31, 198i. The Ramsey Public Works Superintendent, <br />Mm. Merle Mevissen, stated that he would like to have the replace- <br />ment for M~. Buchite by August i, i98i. Consequently, the City <br />Administrator requested that they be granted permission to advise <br />for the filling of this position by one August i, i981. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Relmann and seconded by Councilman Somteberg <br />to recommend to %he City Council that the City of Ramsey advertise <br />in 'the Anoka Union' for a public worksman in the July 3, 1981 pub- <br />lication to fill the aforement$oned position by the first part of <br />August 198i. <br /> <br />Motion carTied. Voting yes were Councilmen Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no - None. - <br /> <br />Secondly, the Council Personnel Committee discussed with the City <br />Staff about the following recommended hourly sta~tin~ wage for <br />M~. Buchite's replacement. <br /> <br /> Step 1: 12% less base salsmy for the first six (6) months <br /> Step 2: 6% less base salary for the second six (6) months <br /> Step S: 3% less base salary for the third six (6) months <br /> <br />Note: Base sala~ is g~oss salary currently being paid f6r that <br /> position~ <br /> <br />Upon satlsfacto~y completion of the 18 months, the individual would <br />receive the same hourly wage rate as the other public worksmen. <br />Exception would be if he was not qualified enough on the equipment <br />or for some other good reason h~s hourly rate would be retained at <br />a recommended level until individual corrected this deficiency. It <br />was recommended that the above be passed on for Council reyiew and <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
