Miscellaneous - It was brought up to the Council Personnel
Committee by the City Admlnistz~atoz~ that at the June 23, 1981
Council meeting, there was discussion on increasing the numbem
of ball fields and ice minks in the City of Ramsey. He pointed
out to the Council Pemsonnet- Committee that this could very well
lead to additional operational costs and that this committee
should take a good look at it before the Council gets committed
to something that maybe they don't want to get committed to at
this time. The City Administrator stated that the State mandated
that the City of Anoka was a free standing community and that these
types of communities would provide the active parks (ball fields,
hockey rinks, tennis cou~ts, etc. ). Accordingly, the Metro Council
would provide funding to only the f~ee standing communities so that
they could carry out this mission. In view of this, Anoka should
be providing the ball flelds~ tennis cou~ts, hockey rinks, etc.

The Council Personnel Committee requested that-the City Adminlstmatom
have the Ramsey Park Board check into this and report back' to the
Council Personnel Committee as soon as possible.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 a.m.

/y Admlnlst~ator
