JOB DESCRIPTION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />POSITION: Public Works Worker II <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Public Works <br /> <br />DATE APPROVED: <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE <br /> <br />Operates equipment used in street maintenance which required limited <br />skilled to skilled work. <br /> <br />Assignments primarily include the. operation of grader, loader and dump <br />truck in street maintenance work and are normally performed under super- <br />vision. <br /> <br />RELATIONSHIP <br /> <br />Report to: Public Works Superintendent <br /> <br />Has no supervisory responsibility. <br /> <br />SPECIFIC REqUIPd~ENTS <br /> <br />Performs street maintenance functions. Includes blade, grade, shapes, <br />patches and shoulder of roads; plows snow; load gravel, sand and other <br />materials. <br /> <br />2. Performs excavating and materials moving or transfer duties requiring <br /> the use of medium or heavy equipment. <br /> <br />3. Performs a variety of manual tasks related to street/road maintenance <br /> such as crack filling, patching, cleaning culverts and snow fencing. <br /> <br />4. 5~yperformservicing and field maintenance of equipm;nt. <br /> <br />S. Performs other work as required. <br /> <br />R~UIREMENTS <br /> <br />1. Education: High school graduate desirable. <br /> <br />Experience: A combination substantially equivalent to considerable <br />experience in the operation and servicing of a variety of highway <br />maintenance', construction or related equipment. <br /> <br />Considerable knowledge of the principles of operation and servicing <br />of assigned equipment including the adoption and specialized uses <br />to which equipment can be put to meeting emergency or other unusual <br />conditions. <br /> <br />D-17 <br /> <br /> <br />
