Councilmember Reimann stated he was impressed with Mr. Daryl Sathoff's abilities and thought he would make a fine employee. Mr. Reimann stated that he felt Mr. David Hauan and Mr. Donald Berg were well trained indi- viduals, however, he felt inasmucha s they had been self employed that they would leave City employment if the economy turned around. He stated it is difficult to go from being your own boss to being just a worker. Councilmember Sorteberg stated he felt Mr. Mevissen's input should be con- sidered on this case. Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to recommend to the City Council that Mr. Daryl Sathoff be the Council Per- sonnel Committee's first choise and that Mr. David Hauan be its second choice. Further, the Committee recommends to the Council that the indi- viduals hourly rate commence at $7.9961 per hour which is 12% less than the hour rate for our current public works man. Further that the individual progress through the steps as Council approved at the June 30, 1981 meeting. Motion carried. Voting yes Councilmembers Reimann and Sorteberg. Voting no None. The City Administrator stated that this should go to the Council before telling the individual. Further, after the Council has made its selection, the Personnel Committee should meet again with the individual and go over the Personnel Committee policy.
