PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey Council Personnel Committee met on July 22, 1981, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. this date. <br />Members Present: Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Al Sorteberg <br />Also Present: Lloyd G. Schnelle, City Administrator /Clerk <br />Merle Mevissen, Public Works Superintendent <br />Erik Sandin, Anoka Union Reporter <br />The purpose of the meeting was to interview candidates for the position of <br />• public works man which will have a vacancy upon the retirement of Mr. <br />Richard Buchite. He submitted to the Council his letter of intent to retire <br />effective October 31, 1981. The Public Works Superintendent, Mr. Mevissen, <br />has requested that the position be filled by August 1, 1981. <br />The City Administrator informed the Council Personnel Committee that the <br />Public Works Superintendent had screened all the applicants and that he was <br />C 1 submitting the following five persons for the Council Personnel Committee <br />to interview: <br />Mr. David Hauan <br />Mr. Richard Gebeau <br />Mr. Michael Simons <br />Mr. Daryl Sathoff <br />Mr. Donald Berg <br />• The Council Personnel Committee further received a list of peoples names <br />re not selected for in— <br />that had submitted job application forms but we <br />terview. This list is being attached to the minutes as enclosure (11)) . The <br />City Administrator informed the Personnel Committee if there was anyone on <br />the list who they felt was qualified and should be called in for an inter— <br />view they should so inform City Staff. <br />The Council Personnel Committee conducted the interview of all the five (5) <br />candidates. The two City Staff members (City Administrator and Public <br />Works Superintendent) sat in as ex officio members to the interviewing <br />portion. <br />Councilmember Sorteberg asked Merle Mevissen who he preferred of the five of <br />knowledges Mevissen stated preferred n <br />of the City and of the City equipment.
