RESOLUTION #81- <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Ramsey to contract <br />with the City of Elk River and Anoka for Fire Department services; and <br />WHEREAS, the respective contracts require the City to pay an <br />overall contract fee for the availability of the service in addition to <br />an actual hourly fee for each specific fee; and <br />WHEREAS, because the general public and citizens of Ramsey <br />benefit equally as a result of the availability of these fire depart- <br />ments this overall contract fee is paid from the City's general fund; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, because only the individual or entity who has the need <br />for a fire departments services benefits when the department is called <br />to a specific fire, the department's hourly call out fee is charged to <br />that person or entity which is benefitted by the fire department; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been the City's position for the past ten (10) <br />years to collect hourly fire call costs from the individual or entity <br />benefitted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the hourly cost of all past and future fire calls are <br />to be paid by the individual or entity which benefits from the service. <br />2) The City Administrator is hereby directed to take the <br />necessary action to collect all delinquent fire call accounts, which <br />action may include, at his discretion, the use of the City Attorney to <br />pursue court action on those accounts which fail to pay. <br />I <br />
