Koenlg <br /> Don Greenberg <br /> Arnie Cox <br /> Duke Carlson <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reconvened this special Council meeting at 9:05 P.M. <br />Council then moved the discussion on to the need for a public works~man <br />which pertains to Street Maintenance Activity (Supplement #4) Snow and <br />Ice Removal Activity (Supplement #5) and Park and Recreation Fund (Supple- <br />ment #9). Street Superintendent Mevissen stated he needed this man due to <br />the fact he just doesn't have the man hours to cover the demans that are <br />being put on his department. He stated that he now has to do most of his <br />report writing during his off hours. <br /> <br /> City_ Administrator Schnelle pointed out to the Council that there was a <br /> definite need in this department for that additional man. Council members <br /> further discussed the need of this man. <br /> Council at this point moved on to the use of Revenue Sharing dollars. <br /> Councilman Cox wanted to know if the City could use Revenue Sharing to <br /> reduce the total tax load as proposed in the budget. City Administrator <br /> Schnelle stated yes that Revenue Sharing could be used to reduce the tax <br /> levy. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schnelle stated that Council first had to establish a <br /> use and the dollar amount for the use and then conduct a public hearing on <br /> this proposed use. Councilman Cox wanted to know if Revenue Sharing money <br /> sho~_ldu't be used for recreation or park improvement. Mayor Gamec stated <br /> the Park and Recreation Commission was working up a bond proposal for this <br /> public improvement. <br /> Further discussion was held on this and then Councilman Sorteberg recommended <br /> that Revenue Sharing be used as follows: <br /> <br /> l) Muuicipal Center Development $30,000 <br /> 2) Engineering $17,000 <br /> Total uses $47,000 <br /> <br /> Page 3 <br />Special Council <br />November 12~ 1980 <br /> <br /> <br />
