Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Reimann to approve <br />the minutes for the regular council meeting held on September 8, 1980. <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. He felt it was not fair to <br /> the people In developments with larger size houses for people to come in with <br /> smaller type houses. <br /> Building Official Berg stated there has been 13 permits issued for houses <br /> that did not conform to the old ordinance. This was 13 out of 25 permits <br /> issued since the ordinance waS changed. The permits were for Sorteberg <br /> Addition and Countryside Estates, one in High Point, one in Peltzers and <br /> one in Menkvelds. Three of them were for 1,092 sq. ft. and the one in <br /> High Point was for 960 sq. ft. houses. He said he hasn't had any other <br /> complaint than the one concerning the house in High Point. <br /> Councilman Cox said he didn't have any problem with the sizes of houses <br /> in the new ordinance or with the areaS where there .is no development yet. <br /> However, he thought there should be a garage required in the ~reas where <br />· there is a develgpment already there. He said he was not for getting a lot <br /> of new residential development because it might affect commercial and <br /> industrial development. <br /> Motion by Councilman Cox to change the ordinance to add a gs.rage requirement <br /> to the 960 sq. ft. Rambler. <br /> <br /> Motion died for lack of a second. <br /> Mayor Gamec said the city got the prices of the houses down to the $50,000 <br /> range by not requiring gsurages.
