Environmental Specialist Bacon stated that someone could brief the committee on the EPB input. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that would be really helpful because he doesn't know what the <br />process is or how the EPB influences it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated the City is still trying to figure out what they're doing with the <br />process. She stated that would be a good thing for the City to have EPB input. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated there is no real set process for providing feedback. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated the next piece that would be helpful is to ask how Ramsey is <br />going through that process. She stated that the City is required to have a new Comprehensive <br />Plan by 2008 as a Metropolitan Council requirement. <br /> <br />Environmental Specialist Bacon stated it would be appropriate to get a general overall briefing <br />about the process before focusing on the input. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda recommended that the wording of"implementation" of the Tree Ordinance <br />be changed to "refinement" of the tree ordinance on the 2006 work plan. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that review of the implementation has been completed. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda asked if there was a need to have this Board represent residents by Ward to <br />update Council members. He asked if the Board felt there was a need for a quarterly update, or <br />to invite Council members to the EPB meetings for an update on a scheduled basis. <br /> <br />Board Member Olds stated he felt it was appropriate to invite Council members to the EPB <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that the original intent was to have some informal conversation with <br />Council members. He stated that inviting the entire Council wouldn't be informal because there <br />would be too many people at the meetings. <br /> <br />Board Member Olds stated the intent was to offer the opportunity to brief Council members with <br />informal information. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated that EPB members from an individual Ward could potentially <br />inform their Ward representatives on the Council. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that last year was a transition year from task force to a board so it <br />asn t an easy task to accomphsh. <br /> <br />Board Member Bentz asked if members of the EPB actually represented a one to one relationship <br />with the Wards. <br /> <br />Discussion by Board members ensued to determine which Ward each Board member resided in. <br />Coordinator Anderson stated that there isn't a breakdown of at-large members versus members <br />representing each Ward. He stated that Board Members Hustvedt, Bentz, and Sibilki all reside in <br />Ward 2; Board Member Freeberg resides in Ward 3; Board Member Max resides in Ward 1; <br />Environmental Policy Board / January 9, 2006 <br /> Page 11 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
