Discuss comments from the 2006 Street Maintenance Projects Public Hearing held on
January 24~, 2006

At the January 24, 2006 Street Maintenance Project public hearing, a gentleman from
Kangaroo Street in Oak Ridge Estates objected to the project and asked questions about what
would happen if the residents were to opt out of the program. At the conclusion of the meeting
one of the residents requested a letter that would identify what the City's position would be if
the residents opted out of the project, and the standing on allowing them back into the program
in the future.

The consensus of the Committee was to direct staff to draft a letter stating residents that opt out
of the Street Maintenance Program will be assessed at 100% of road maintenance costs. After
the 100% is paid the residents could approach the City to opt back into the program on the
regular road rotation.
