The office may temporarily, without hearing, suspend 52.4 the license and operating privilege of any business licensed under this chapter for up to 90 52.5 days if continuing the operation of the business would threaten the health or safetv of anv 52.6 person. The office may extend the period for an additional 90 days if the office notified the 52.E business that the office intends to revoke or not renew a license and the hearing required 52.8 under subdivision 2 has not taken place. 52.9 Sec. 22. [342.221 RETAILERS; LOCAL REGISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT. 52.10 Subdivision 1. Registration required. Before making retail sales to customers or patients, 52.11 a cannabis microbusiness with a retail operations endorsement, cannabis mezzobusiness 52.12 with a retail operations endorsement, cannabis retailer, medical cannabis retailer, or 52.13 lower -potency hemp edible retailer must register with the local unit of government in which 52.14 the retail establishment is located. 52.15 Subd. 2. Registration fee. (a) A local unit of government may impose an initial retail 52.16 registration fee of up to half the amount of the applicable initial license fee under section 52.17 342.11. The local unit of government may also impose a renewal retail registration fee of 52.18 up to half the amount of the applicable renewal license fee under section 342.11. The initial 52.19 license fee shall include the fee for initial registration and the first annual renewal. Any 52.2o renewal fee imposed by the local unit of government shall be charged at the time of the 52.21 second renewal and each subsequent annual renewal thereafter. 52.22 (b) The local unit of government may not charge an application fee. 52.23 (c) A cannabis business with a cannabis retailer license and a medical cannabis retailer 52.24 license for the same location may only be charged a single registration fee. 52.25 (d) Registration fees are nonrefundable. 52.26 Subd. 3. Issuance of registration. (a) A local unit of government shall issue a retail 52.27 registration to a cannabis microbusiness with a retail operations endorsement, cannabis 52.28 mezzobusiness with a retail operations endorsement, cannabis retailer, medical cannabis 52.29 retailer, or lower -potency hemp edible retailer that: 52.30 (1) has a valid license issued by the office; 52.31 (2) has paid the registration fee or renewal fee pursuant to subdivision 2; Article 1 Sec. 22. 52
