HF100 NINTH ENGROSSMENT REVISOR BD 1-10100-9 <br />134.1 (d) "Eligible organization" means any organization able to make an investment in a <br />134.2 community where long-term residents are eligible to be social equity applicants and may <br />134.3 include educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, private businesses, community <br />134.4 groups, units of local government, or partnerships between different types of organizations. <br />134.5 (e) "Program" means the CanRenew grant program. <br />134.6 (f) "Social equity applicant" means a person who meets the qualification requirements <br />134.7 in section 342.16. <br />134.8 Subd. 3. Grants to organizations. (a) The office must award grants to eligible <br />134.9 organizations through a competitive grant process. <br />134.10 (b) To receive grant money, an eligible organization must submit a written application <br />134.11 to the office, using a form developed by the office, explaining the community investment <br />134.12 the organization wants to make in an eligible community. <br />134.13 (c) An eligible organization's grant application must also include: <br />134.14 (1) an analvsis of the communitv's need for the proposed investment: <br />134.15 (2) a description of the positive impact that the proposed investment is expected to <br />134.16 generate for that community; <br />134.17 (3) any evidence of the organization's ability to successfully achieve that positive impact; <br />134.18 (4) any evidence of the organization's past success in making similar community <br />134.19 investments; <br />134.20 (5) an estimate of the cost of the proposed investment; <br />134.21 (6) the sources and amounts of any nonstate funds or in -kind contributions that will <br />134.22 supplement grant money; and <br />134.23 (7) any additional information requested by the office. <br />134.24 (d) In awarding grants under this subdivision, the office shall give weight to applications <br />134.25 from organizations that demonstrate a history of successful community investments, <br />134.26 particularly in geographic areas that are now eligible communities. The office shall also <br />134.27 give weight to applications where there is demonstrated community support for the proposed <br />134.28 investment. The office shall fund investments in eligible communities throughout the state. <br />134.29 Subd. 4. Program outreach. The office shall make extensive efforts to publicize these <br />134.30 grants, including through partnerships with community organizations, particularly those <br />134.31 located in eligible communities. <br />Article 1 Sec. 68. 134 <br />
