_) Councilmember Hardin introduced the following resolution and moved for i~s adoption: RESOLUTION g91-08-176 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST A TRAFFIC STUDY FOR STATE HIGHWAY #47 FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MnDOT) WHEREAS, representatives from the City of Ramsey have met with representatives from the City of Anoka to discuss areas of mutual concern; and WHEREAS, during these discussions, the City of Anoka has expressed a concern for southbound traffic on State Highway #47 as it approaches the area of the grade crossing with the Burlington Northern Railroad within the City of Anoka; and .WHEREAS, the nature of the land usc between said railroad crossing and thc northern border of the City of Ramsey along State Highway g47 is residential in nature; and WHEREAS, the residential densities along this corridor are continuing to increase with several pending plat approvals within adjacent properties. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a u'affic study by MnDOT for the roadway known as State Highway #47 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beyer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gilbertson Councilmember Hardin Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Cich and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None and the following were absent: Councilmember Peterson whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Cour)cil this the 13th day of August, 1991. ~ ~~/ ~/
