Restrict Inconfing Telephone Calls - We currently have three incoming telephone lines which really plays havoc here. Consequently, I recommend the following change in this area: a) Restrict the number of incoming calls to having only one incoming line. b) Keep three out going lines. This phone business has been a problem ever since I came to Ramsey but now it is getting too much. I would like immediate action on this one issue. 7) Public Works Department and Park Department - The following problems exist here in this area: a) Culverts and Drainage - We need extensive work done in this area such as cleaning out culverts and put- ting in culverts where they are needed. We really aren't getting this area covered here in the City of Ramsey. This could be a costly mistake for the City if we don't address it. It will also be an ongoing problem. b) Street ~aintenance - This is going to be an expensive operation in that it will usurp time and that will be the tar filling of cracks that develop in your asphalt streets. c) Merle Mevissen, Public Works Superintendent - Will be present to go over other aspects of this work area. Police Department Record Service - Present equipment used for record keeping is not being completely utilized due to lack of available man hours to accomplish it. This record keeping pertains strictly to clerical not patrol officer time. Comments: The above is a list of a few of the items that are creating problems for us here at City Hall. I am keemly aware that Council is not fully cognizant of the horrendous work load and how complicated some of it is here when I sit in Council meetings. In view of the above, I thought it would be good to discuss this with you and get your direction on this matter.
