- 3 - .period for the project is estimated to be approximately 18 months. The City of Anoka requested an extension of the Anoka interceptor to the Rum River. This was reviewed by the Physical Development Committee on November 20. The Physical Development Committee denied the request for extension, and its recommen- dations will be acted upon by the Council on Thursday, December 18. The City of Ra~sey has also requested a second connection (northern connection). The Council's position relative to a second connection remains unchanged in that consideration of the timing of this facility will not occur until the city's comprehensive plan and CSP are in for review, and a documen- tation of local need for the timing can be provided. 5. COORDINATION WITH PCA A meeting will be set for early January to meet with PCA staff to review the progress of the CAB facility thus far, and to seek clarification in response to certain questions and issues which have been raised during 1980. Some of these issues can be summarized as follows: be Ce Ensure that the 201 facilities studies once submitted to the PCA can be reviewed 'in a timely fashion so that PCA's response can be coordinated with our monitoring of the CAB implementation process. Determine what has to be done to undertake efforts to determine potential for funding eligibility of the Minneapolis East Interceptor, and explore options for coordinating the timing of this facility with that of the CAB facility. Determine future grant eligibility for the CAB facility, particularly Step II and Step III, if feasible. Review with PCA staff current design options for construction of the CAB, particularly the option whereby the-AnoVa treatment plant is expanded to provide additional capacity, and that the CAB facility is staged northward to include the City of Champlin.
