PRESIDENT'S
REPORT

NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Your Nominating Committee has been busy selecting officers and committee chairs for
the 1981-1982 year. Each of the committee chairs has been picked and the chairmen
have accepted their assignments. Most of the committees will have new chairmen this
year and you will see a number of new names on the masthead this coming year. The
Nominating Committee met with each of the committee chairs and selected committee
members from the large number of people who volunteered for these jobs. We have
received many letters from the membership asking to be put on committees. The reaction
to our solicitation of volunteers has been overwhelming and we would like to thank all of
you who have volunteered; we have been able to place most of you on committees. It
looks as though 1981-1982 will be action-packed with a lot of eager new (and some old)
volunteers. This chapter is a pretty neat chapter to be associated with.

REVENUE BOND RESTRICTIONS
Several of our legislators have introduced a bill to restrict revenue bonds to only indus-
trial type operations. This bill would eliminate the use of revenue bonds for office build-
ings, retail buildings and the like. Our organization emphatically disagrees with this legis-
lation. We maintain that any legislation affecting revenue

bond financing should be federal legislation. Minnesota
should not be more restrictive than neighboring states; if
Minnesota is more restrictive, some of the business which
have been created in the state with revenue bond
will end up in these neighboring states.

Please talk to your legislator and let him know this position.

PALM SPRINGS SEMINAR
You will be receiving this newsletter at about the same time
the Palm Springs seminar is starting. This seminar appears to
be another one of our national seminars that will help yOu be
able to stay in this business. For those of you who are won-
daring how you will survive -- the time and money invested
in this kind of conference and in your local organization is
repaid 100-fold in terms of information critical to your
SUCCESS.

MEMBER-TO-MEMBER COLUMN
You will note that our Member to Member column has been
growing each month. It has been difficult to get this column
going, and I believe that each of you are interested in what

SAMUEL S. Some people put in many, many hours with little or
no recognition at all. Each volunteer will be getting a special
recognition at our awards dinner in April and will selectively
be given recognition in the remaining one or two newletters
of this year. You will find listed below the officers, directors,
committee chairmen and committee members who have
served you so well this past year.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Bruce M.
