I can tell Council members now that there are a lot of law makers who do <br />not have any concept of the problems they are creating. <br /> <br />Now, I want to thank the Council personnel who could get away to go to these <br />meetings with me as it is important that at least one Council representative <br />is present when I meet with legislators. <br /> <br />I should also state Lake Crystal has really been very helpful in getting <br />meetings organized, etc. <br /> <br />}~yor question - Are we making headway on this State Aid issue? Yes I have <br />to think we are but it is one day at a time. <br /> <br />2) Airport - We had a meeting set up for February 13, 1981 with a Mr. <br />Nigel Finney of the Metro Airport Commission but he cancelled due to ill- <br />ness. We are in the process of setting up another meeting and I should be <br />able to give you the date at the Council meeting. <br /> <br />3) Cable TV - The Andover, Anoka, Champlin, R~msey Cable TV Commission met <br />Thursday, 7:30 P.M., February 12, 1981 at the Anoka City Hall. I will be <br />attaching to the Council agenda addendum the Cable TV survey results on <br />the four communities. <br /> <br />4) Council Personnel Committee - This Committee met Friday, ?:00 A.M., <br />February 13, 1981. The meeting covered quite a large area. The minutes of <br />it are in the Council agenda. Also, the issue data input equipment will be <br />on the Council agenda addendum. <br /> <br />5) Position of Assistant Administrator Assistant - We are receiving quite <br />a few applications for this position. The closing date for it is }~arch 15, <br />1981. I have advertized in the }~inneapolis Tribune and League of Cities <br />publication. <br /> <br />6) Anoka Fire Contract - This was in the Council agenda of February 10, <br />1981 by accident. However, the question on contract language is in Ramsey's <br />favor. <br /> <br />Reason - I didn't want it acted on is that the dollar amount contained in <br />it is not correct and we're negotiating with the City of Anoka to give us <br />credit for overbilling on the contract which is based on City valuation. <br /> <br />Enclosure (1) to this letter contains the saving Rsm~ey made with Elk River <br />when we audited their previous years of billing of 1978 and 1979 which they <br />over billed us. It should be noted we didn't go back any further because <br />of the time factor. <br /> <br />Enclosure (2) contains our problem with the Anoka over billing which we are <br />still working on as of this date. <br /> <br /> <br />
