STAFF REPORTS CONTINUED Building Official Berg'S February 12, 1981 report regarding development contracts and miscellaneous items for consideration v~as discussed. Item the City Hall Boiler needs to be resolved. The City has operated the en- tire year on two of the three boiler units and %he system continues to leak. Loss of another unit could be critical in extended periods of ex- treme cold. Further, the maintenance contract cannot be executed until the necessary repairs are made. Attorney Goodrich suggested getting the boiler problem resolved. Motion by Councilman Cox s_nd seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to note the fact %hat the general and mechanical contractors are not fulfilling their contrectural obligations in resolving the boiler problem and that the City Attorney is pursuing these oblige%ions through a lawsuit. But because the City has immediate hemtlng problems and to insure that there is no lapse in the building being heated, it is necessary at this time to seek bids to have the boiler system properly repaired and~ therefore~ I mo.ye to authorize the City Staff to obtain quotes for the necessary repairs. Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor G~mec, Councilman Sorteberg, Councilman Reimann, Councilman Cox ~ud Councilwoman Van Wagner. Voting no: None. Councilman Cox inquired if the Holker item was taken care of. Attorney Goodrich stated it is in the process of being taken care of. City ~8m~nlstrator Scknelle discussed with the Council his staff report. He discussed the February 19, 1981 Citizen League meeting on Governance In the ~etropolitan krea. The speaker was Senatory ~yrton Wegener, the Chair- man of the Senate Local Government Committee. Administrator Schnelle reco~ended to the Council to have Senator Wegener invited to the City of Ramsey to discuss how mandated programs are affecting the City and how out of control they are for cities like Ramsey. ~otlon by Councilman Cox s_nd seconded by CounCilman Reim~%n to move to quest ]~yrton Wegener's presence at a meeting. ~otion carried. Administrator Schnelle mentioned the ~inneapolis Tribune would be at the City on FebrUary 24, 1981 at 9:30 A,~. in regard to inequities in state law. He also stated the next airport meeting was set up for ~arch 6, 1981 at 2:00 P.~. and the next Anoka, Andover, Champlin, Ramsey Cable TV Commission meetings would be ~rch 5 and ~arch 19 at 5:00 P.5{. at the Anoka City Hall, He stated the next agenda would have a complete compilation of all con~nunfty surveys for cable TV.
