To alleviate the flooding on Limonite Street would require storm sewer construction
to Kamacite Street N.W. or construction of a ponding area. To alleviate the other
flooding problems on the other streets would require cross street culverts and
drainage easements as proposed on Exhibit A. The existing pondtng sites and the
road ditches presently assimilate the storm water run-off into the ground by
percolation. While the existing ponds presently operate effectively, with an
increase in development and as additional areas are surfaced, an increase in
storm water run-off could be anticipated. This could, in turn, overtax the
present storm drainage system unless positive outlets are provided. However, this
is not likely to occur until development densities increase at the ti'me municipal
utilities are installed.

Proposed Improvements:
The present street and drainage system provides an operational street and drainage
network. Therefore, it is our recommendation that the present rural street section
and drainage system be maintained with only minor changes to limit the disruption
to the abutting property and minimize the costs of the improvement.

~rovement:
The existing residential streets are proposed to be widened and shaped to accommodate
a minimum street width of 26 feet, as shown on Exhibit B. The streets would be
paved 24 feet wide with a variable gravel shoulder a minimum of 1 foot wide.
The street section proposed would be narrower than the City of Ramsey's standard
rural street section, but would minimize disruption to the adjacent lots during
construction since the street width proposed generally follows the present
street section width.
The street section proposed as shown on Exhibit B consists of a 3 inch gravel
base with a 1½" bituminous surface. This section is equivalent to a 5-ton design
in accordance to the Department of Transportation specifications. This section
has been previously used in the city and other communitie~ with no detrimental
. effects. It is estimated that this street section has a life expectancy of 15
