Weekly Update — April 14, 2023 Council Update Employee Appreciation Breakfast, Years of Service Awards and All Staff Meeting: Wednesday, April 19, 7:30 — 9:00 am at Ramsey City Hall in the Alexander Ramsey Room. We ask that residents plan accordingly for their visit to City Hall during this time, as only a few departments will have staff to assist them. Attached to the Weekly Update is the Employee Appreciation Breakfast flyer. Celebrate the 53rd Earth Day: City of Ramsey Employees — Let's Help Clean Up the Earth, Friday, April 21, 9:30 — 11:00 am at City Hall or 12:30 — 2:00 pm at Public Works. Remember to wear appropriate footwear (this is casual Friday). Gloves and garbage bags will be provided — sign -up by contacting Nicole Laubach at nlaubach@cityoframsey.com. The City of Ramsey Employee Earth Day flyer, is attached to the Weekly Update. Come Work With Us! The City of Ramsey is hiring for the following positions: • Police Officer (2 Openings). The primary objective of this position is to perform responsible police work involving the protection and safety of the community through prevention and control of crime, maintaining or restoring public order, investigating crime, regulating traffic, enforcing laws and providing emergency services, as well as other related duties as required. This is a full-time LELS-Patrol union position. The 2023 hiring wage is $32.460 per hour. Application deadline is open until filled. Apply immediately if interested. • Streets Maintenance Worker. The primary objective of this position is to provide general and skilled maintenance of public streets, right-of-ways, storm sewer systems, parking lots and any other related municipal facilities or equipment, as well as snow plowing of public streets, trails and walks. This full-time AFSCME union position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing. The 2023 hiring wage is $25.749 per hour. The City of Ramsey is also hiring the following Temporary Seasonal Staff: • Seasonal Maintenance Workers (2 Openings Remaining). The primary objective of this position is to provide general maintenance of streets, park grounds, trails, buildings, and related facilities and equipment through the spring, summer and possibly fall months. This also includes mowing and trimming; pruning and planting trees or working on landscape projects; maintaining athletic fields; picking up trash; street and utilities maintenance. These temporary non -union positions work up to forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Must be at least 17 years of age or older by June 1 and have a valid Minnesota driver's license. The 2023 hiring wage is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.
