Weekly Update — April 14, 2023 <br />Park and Recreation Events and Updates: <br />• Kites and Bites <br />o Help us fill the spring sky with colorful kites at Elmcrest Park on Saturday, April <br />29, from 11:00 am — 2:00 pm! There will be plenty of fun for everyone with food <br />trucks, kites, face painting, games and more. Kites will be available for free for <br />kids while supplies last. <br />• City-wide Garage Sale <br />o Registration for the City-wide Garage Sale is open until Sunday, April 23. For <br />more information and to register, visit www.cityoframsey.com/parkevents. <br />• Earth Day <br />o Join Ramsey Parks and Recreation in celebrating the 53rd Earth Day by cleaning <br />up public spaces in Ramsey. This clean-up is community -wide, so you decide <br />which street, trail or park you help beautify. Join us for <br />the City of Ramsey's 14th Annual Business Expo on Saturday, April 29, from 10:00 am <br />— 2:00 pm, at Adrenaline Sports Center, 8310 147th Lane NW, Ramsey. There will be <br />free food and drink samples, gift card drawings, games, giveaways, discounted offers, <br />coupons, balloon art and airbrush tattoos by A Touch of Magic and more! Learn about <br />local businesses and what's happening in the City of Ramsey. City staff will be on hand <br />to answer questions. Don't miss it. We'll see you there! Attached to the Weekly <br />Update is the 2023 Ramsey Business Expo flyer. <br />• Spring Recycling Day Event. The Spring Recycling Day event will be on Saturday, <br />May 6, from 8:00 am — 12:00 pm at the Ramsey Public Works facility, 14199 Jaspar <br />Street NW. This is an opportunity for residents to properly dispose of several materials <br />not accepted in the curbside recycling program, including appliances, electronics, tires, <br />fluorescent bulbs, batteries, oil, oil filters, antifreeze, mattresses, box springs and scrap <br />metal. The standard curbside materials (e.g. cardboard, aluminum, steel and tin cans, <br />newspaper, plastic bottles, tubs, and lids one gallon or less in size, glass jars and bottles) <br />will also be accepted. Finally, residents can take advantage of FREE paper shredding at <br />the Spring Recycling Day event (limited to no more than three boxes of documents; the <br />shredded paper does get recycled).
