The preliminary <br /> analysis in the study indicates that a substantial reduction will occU~ in <br /> emergency service delays atcrossings and the potential for a blocked crossing <br /> causing critical effects on a patient'S outcome Will be elimlnatedby the <br /> volunteer rescue squad. <br /> Other demonstration projects in the S~udy are.designed to reduce vehicle delay <br /> at crossings-~ The principal one consists of the ~ins~allation of Grade Crossing <br /> predictors (GCP'S)- The GCP's are being installedwhere.moti°n sensors, or <br /> activators, were previously Used. In the final phase of the study, <br /> the GCP's and theother demonstration pro] i corridor. <br /> effectiveness and applicability to otherp <br /> Th~ results will be included in the report for the' final phase of the study <br /> and will be distributed around September, 1981, to the corridor communities and <br /> other interested parties. <br /> The best forum for the communities or individuals wanting to participate in the <br /> study is ~hro~gh the Rail Traffic Task Force ~RTTF), a~ organization of <br /> representativesfrom the corridor communities that ~as worked closely with the <br /> Rail Corridor Study's management board. Theorganization is open to new <br /> me~%bers. Contact persons'are. Morris Lanning, 'Mayor of Moorhead, the newly <br /> elected chairman of the RTTF, or willis Kingsbury' community Development <br /> Director of Moorhead, the newly appointed'technical chairman.'
