The preliminary analysis in the study indicates that a substantial reduction will occU~ in emergency service delays atcrossings and the potential for a blocked crossing causing critical effects on a patient'S outcome Will be elimlnatedby the volunteer rescue squad. Other demonstration projects in the S~udy are.designed to reduce vehicle delay at crossings-~ The principal one consists of the ~ins~allation of Grade Crossing predictors (GCP'S)- The GCP's are being installedwhere.moti°n sensors, or activators, were previously Used. The best forum for the communities or individuals wanting to participate in the study is ~hro~gh the Rail Traffic Task Force ~RTTF), a~ organization of representativesfrom the corridor communities that ~as worked closely with the Rail Corridor Study's management board.
