Mayors, <br />Managers, and Administrators <br /> <br />FROM: Duke Addicks, Legislative Counsel <br /> <br />BILLS OPPOSED BY LEAGUE <br /> <br />Please contract your legislators and express your opinion on the following bills <br />or proposals opposed by the League. <br /> <br />1. iMANUFACTURED HOMES AS A PERMITTED USE. <br /> iH.F. 671 (Rees, Voss, R. Anderson) would require that in all counties <br /> land towns, manufactured housing and mobile homes certified under the <br /> inational standards must be considered a permitted single-family use of <br /> .property under local zoning regulations. The architectural require- <br /> ~ments which may be imposed on a manufactured home or mobile home are <br /> :limited to roof overhang and roofing and siding materials. Local <br /> development standards which would preclude the use of manufactured <br /> homes and mobile homes as permanent residences are prohibited. The <br /> bill is opposed by the Board of Directors of the League of Minnesota <br /> Cities. The S.F. has not yet been introduced. <br /> <br />WINE IN GROCERY STORES. <br />A bill will be introduced to permit the sale of wine in grocery stores. <br />See discussion below. <br /> <br />3.- ONE CLASS OF BEER. <br /> A bill will be introduced to establish one class of beer in Minnesota. <br /> <br />Both bills are contrary to LMC Policy.
