The Interceptor is capable of handling <br />dry weather flows, has overflow discharges to the river during high <br />storm water run-off periods, and has minor structural deficiencies, <br />all according to recent MWCC 201 Studies involving the total com- <br />bined overflow studies of metro area interceptors. <br /> <br />1. The approved ultimate program for the East Interceptor calls <br /> for a parallel relief line to be constructed, <br /> <br />2. The East Interceptor and parallel relief line will ultimately <br /> carry all of the CAB area flows. <br /> ISSUES: <br /> Is the East Interceptor parallel line eligible for federal <br /> and state grants? <br /> <br /> The added CAB area flows, up to the year 1988~ will be negli- <br /> gible. Will the CAB program be approved on its own merits <br /> without being tied to the East Interceptor funding programs <br /> and construction scheduling? <br /> <br />METROPOLITAN TREATMENT PLANT AT PIG'S EYE ISLAND <br />The Metro Plant is presently undergoing extensive improvements to all .. <br />phases of plant operations. The extensive program is scheduled for <br />completion during 1984. ^ majority of the areas state and federal <br />grants have been utilized for this improvement.
