Council Member Dehen asked whether the position required a four-year degree. Human <br />Resources Manager Reed Kone responded that the position required a four-year degree or five <br />years of related experience. <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to recommend that <br />Jennifer Hoffarth be hired as the City's new Accountant I, effective July 7, 2008. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Councilmembers Olson and Dehen. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: None. <br />Case #3: Consider Authorization to Hire a Patrol Officer <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone explained that at the June 10, 2008 meeting, the City <br />Council directed staff to fill the Patrol Officer position as part of a proposed staffing plan for the <br />Police Department. An internal recruitment process was conducted and two internal applicants <br />were interviewed. The interview panel recommended that Drew Moldenhauer be hired as the <br />City's new Patrol Officer. Human Resources Manager Reed Kone reported that with City <br />Council approval, Mr. Moldenhauer's start date would be July 1, 2008, his starting wage would <br />be $20.82 per hour and he would be subject to a one-year probationary period. <br />Motion by Chairperson Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to recommend that the City <br />Council hire Drew Moldenhauer as the new Patrol Officer at an hourly rate of $20.82, effective <br />July 1, 2008. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, and Councilmembers Olson and Dehen. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: None <br />Case #4: Consider Authorization to Hire an Associate Planner <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone explained that at the June 10, 2008 meeting, the City <br />Council granted staff authorization to recruit an Associate Planner as part of a staffing plan for <br />Community Development. An internal recruitment process was conducted and one application <br />was received from Tim Gladhill, Management Intern. Mr. Gladhill was interviewed and staff <br />recommends that Mr. Gladhill be hired as the City's new Associate Planner effective July 1, <br />2008 at an hourly rate of $23.82 <br />Motion by Chairperson Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to recommend to the City <br />Council that Tim Gladhill be hired as the new Associate Planner at an hourly rate of $23.82, <br />effective July 1, 2008. <br />Motion carried.
