Human Resources Manager Reed Kone further explained that the contract would expire October <br />31, 2008, and required a 60-day notice of intent to cancel; therefore, staff is seeking <br />authorization to give notice of the intent to cancel the cleaning contract and begin the recruitment <br />process to hire a part-time, regular Building Maintenance Worker to begin working November 3, <br />2008. <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson added that the City has only been with two contractors since <br />moving to the new facility, but we've had multiple sub -contractors on site. Service has been lax <br />with regard to vacuuming, dusting, removing trash, etc. <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to recommend that the <br />City Council grant authorization to cancel the cleaning contract and direct staff to begin the <br />recruitment process for a part-time regular (24 hrs/wk) Building Maintenance Worker with an <br />anticipated start date of November 3, 2008. <br />Motion carried.
