Chair Dehen stated that he isn't sure that he, as a Councilmember, wants to figure that out. He stated that he wants the department heads to be able to figure out if their guys are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Mayor Ramsey stated that he is not always comfortable making the statement that staff is being as productive as they can be, but if he could get an idea of what is going on in the Council Updates, of what is happening he would feel more comfortable. Chair Dehen asked if the Council could direct staff to come back in 4 months and report on options on how to track productivity. Public Works Director Olson stated that he meets every week with his supervisors to discuss what they accomplished during the past week and what they are planning for the upcoming week, so he can put that into a report. Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he would like to see this issue be put to rest and if City Administrator Ulrich wants to put together some highlights of what is going on, he is fine with that. City Administrator Ulrich stated that he would recommend something be included in the City Update on the major activities that each department is doing so the new Council has a better understanding of what is getting done. He noted that it is important to understand that activity and productivity are two different things. Chair Dehen stated that some of this information should be included in the newsletter also, so the public knows what projects are happening. Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he thinks that already happens in the Ramsey Resident. COMMITTEE INPUT None. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, to close the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee. Motion carried.
