CASE # <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR <br />RAMSEY CROSSINGS AREA (WEST OF ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD) <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City Council adopted a redevelopment study for Ramsey Crossings during the Council <br />meeting of February 14, 2006. The area referred to as Ramsey Crossings is adjacent to the <br />Ramsey Town Center and has been discussed as a development or redevelopment project for a <br />number of years. The study suggested that the area in question should be developed in a way <br />that provides for commercial, retail, and office opportunities that would both benefit from as well <br />as to the Ramsey Town Center. The redevelopment area is not intended to be a Ramsey Town <br />Center II; rather it is intended to be an area that, while different in development configuration <br />and providing for different types and scale of development, it is a compliment to the Ramsey <br />Town Center uses. <br /> <br />During the same Council meeting of February 14, the Council directed staff and the City <br />Attorney to begin acquisitions of all the properties involved in the Ramsey Crossings Area. As <br />part of that direction, staff was also directed to develop a Request for Proposal to select a partner <br />developer for the development of Ramsey Crossings. The selected developer would then <br />redevelop the land imo a retail center base utilizing the concept that the City would agree with <br />and collaborate. <br /> <br />A draft Request for Proposal has been prepared and is ready for Council consideration. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to authorize Request for Proposals of Ramsey Crossings. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />CC: 03/28/06 <br /> <br />-307- <br /> <br /> <br />
