PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Public Hearing: 7:45 P.M., Conditional Use Permit to <br />accept cans to be recycled, Case of <br />Mr. Dick Hetland <br />Members Present: Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Chairman <br />Mr. Benjamin Deemer <br />Mr. Arthur Dunn <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman <br />Mr. Ronald West (late) <br />Also Present: City Building Official Berg <br />Members Absent: Mr. Harry Ellis <br />Ms. Kathy Schneider <br />Mr. Dick Hetland came before the Commission seeking a <br />Conditional Use Permit to accept cans to be recycled <br />in a 20 x 40 building behind McGregors. He is the owner <br />of Brooklyn Park Aluminum. <br />Arthur Dunn asked Mr. Hetland if cans would be compacted <br />there. <br />Mr. Hetland stated not at the present time. <br />• Arthur Dunn asked about liquid spills and.flys, what <br />control measures he intended to have. <br />Mr. Hetland stated there -is nothing stored in the building, <br />the cans are in and out so quickly he has never had a <br />problem or need to take control measures. <br />Ken Peterson asked when the metal is separated, does <br />he use a garbage container for the waste material. <br />Mr. Hetland stated yes he does. <br />There were no further comments and the public hearing <br />was closed at 7:50 P.M. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />L n Clark, <br />Recording Secretary <br />for the City of Ramsey <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />P &Z /April 7, 1981 <br />1 <br />
