The Personnel Committee <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the <br />7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Chairperson Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jason Tossey <br />Human Resources Representative Colleen Lasher <br />Deputy City Adm./Dir. of Community Dev. Heidi Nelson <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Jeffrey called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:07 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Chairperson Jeffrey, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Councilmembers McGlone and Tossey. <br />Voting No: None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Consider a Resolution Accepting the Resignation of a Patrol Officer and <br />Authorization to Recruit a Replacement Patrol Officer <br />Human Resources Representative Colleen Lasher reviewed the staff report. Councilmemeber <br />Jeffrey directed staff to thank Officer Erdman for his years of service to the city. Police Chief <br />Way followed with additional information regarding the possibility of an internal hire stating that <br />he believes the city has up to 9 internal staff (regular staff, firefighters, and reserve officers) that <br />are eligible to apply. He also stated that if an internal hire is achieved there would be a savings <br />realized with regard to advertising the position. Mayor Ramsey asked Chief Way what the <br />appropriate ratio of officers to citizens is and the Chief responded approximately 1 to 1000. <br />Mayor Ramsey then asked how the city of Andover's arrangement with Anoka County is <br />Personnel Committee / February 22, 2011 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
